Lansas high pressure test plugs made from a specially formulated, natural
ozone-protected rubber impregnated
with several layers of nylon cord. The number
of layers
is determined by pressure resistance required in the field.
The
bladder portion of the plug is bonded to its metal inner mandrel. The ends of
the bladder, when inflated, roll up to
the interior of the pipe walls, giving
the plug more sealing surface and less stress on the bladder by not having to
stretch as far, thus adding to the strength of the plug.
Lansas high pressure test plugs have been field tested
to withstand pressures
in excess of several hundred PSI.
Like other Lansas products, the roll-up plugs
can be manufactured to fit specific applications.
